It has been proven over decades that the fire marshal role is crucial in providing a quick and safe egress for occupants of high rise buildings. Tests conducted by the fire service have shown that within similar setup buildings, non-trained companies can take up to 8 times longer in the evacuation process. This startling statistic not only shows that people’s lives could be in danger but highlights the crucial need for staff to be trained. You should you appoint your staff members for these duties but it is also a requirement to provide suitable and sufficient training (article 21 FSO 2005). We can offer a fire marshal course (at your premises) that will give you the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake your fire marshal duties. Training can include interactive activities including fire extinguisher training and role play. Topics covered include:

• The Fire Safety Order 2005 and the law
• Alarm and detection systems
• Emergency lights and signs
• Escape, evacuation and drills. Human behaviour in panic situations.
• Containment and suppression equipment (including practical training with live extinguishers)
